9 Days Left

I have 9 days left before I leave for California!

On June 3 I went to Bluffton, Indiana, which is almost to Fort Wayne, to be commissioned as a YAD. The commissioners from the 2006 Assembly were there, and they said some inspiring things to this years commissioners. Then they all prayed for us and then gave us hugs. It was really nice.

Then Mike and I left the meeting early because I wasn't feeling well. We stopped at Red Lobster to get something to eat, which helped, and then we went to get my new camera! I've been wanting a smaller camera to take with me to GA, so I was very excited. Its pink! I'm very proud because I was able to pay for it myself.

I've been emailing with another YAD for a month or two now. Its great to be able to talk to someone who is going through similar things as I am. That has really helped me to feel more comfortable with GA and to feel more prepared.

With General Assembly closing in, I've had to work hard getting things done. I've been going through all the overtures (motions) and taking notes on them. That way, at the committee meetings, I'll be able to look at my notes to see what I thought, instead of having to read the overture again. I hope it helps.

I want to share something with you. Mike shared it with me last night and it has really helped me.
"You go no where by accident, wherever you go, God is sending you; wherever you are, God has put you there; God has a purpose in your being there. Christ who indwells you has something he wants to do through you where you are. Believe this and go in his grace and love and power."
--- Rev. Richard Halverson, former Chaplain to the US Senate

What an honor... being elected to serve our entire area as a youth rep!

I am so glad you guys decided to blog your experiences. This will be a fun and significantly interesting way for me to learn more about our denomination b/cz I know and love yall so much. :)

Thanks for "publishing" that quote that Mike turned you on to. I'm printing it out to tape on my wall at work... Will be a great daily reminder.

If I don't happen to see you before you go, have a wonderful trip, Jenna. Thanks for inviting us to "go along for the ride"!
